Niagara Falls, or Niagara the Great
After spending 7 hours on the road, one and a half of which we got out of New York, we arrived in the town of Niagara Falls, New York State.
As expected, the settlement of Niagara Falls — a very tiny town built around the world famous waterfall and living from it. It is difficult to determine how many local residents there are, because there are huge hordes of tourists. Everything here works to feed those who come to the waterfall, entertain and provide souvenirs…
There was a small incident with the choice of hotel accommodation, which, by the way, was resolved positively, the fact is that not far from the waterfall there are two hotels with the same name Sheraton, only Sheraton on the Falls is located on Canadian territory, and Sheraton Niagara Falls— in American. Initially, it was the first hotel that attracted attention with its photographs and prices, and through inattention it was even booked, but all is well that ends well: the error was noticed on time and the reservation was canceled without penalty, although we had to contact the hotel for this.
Be careful! Don’t accidentally book a hotel in Canada, you won’t be allowed into Canada, you definitely need a Canadian visa.
So, the Sheraton Niagara Falls hotel is really located 1 km from the famous waterfall and offers free parking, which is nice!
We took a family room for five with a bunk bed, which is rare in hotels.

Later the thought came that it was quite possible to book a hotel both in the city of Buffalo and in the suburbs, most likely it would have been cheaper. When you come for 1 day for the sake of one attraction, you can settle at a distance and come to explore by car, having previously found out about guest parking, but in America there are no problems with this, your car has already been taken care of.
But we weren’t upset either; late in the evening we went to the waterfall again and looked at its illumination — this is a special spectacle! I doubt that we would have lasted until the evening if we lived far from the place…
Niagara Falls
It’s not for nothing that Niagara Falls is considered one of the Wonders of the World and a must-visit place, it’s HUGE!
It’s nice to feel safe next to such crushing power. At such moments you begin to really doubt: «Are we really the Kings of Nature?!»
The ships come very close to the waterfall. At this moment you don’t really understand where the top is, where they are, there is water and roar all around.
Boats with passengers dressed in blue raincoats are approaching from the US side, from Canada — with red ones.
A state park has been organized around the waterfall — Niagara Falls State park. And, of course, paths, benches, benches, snack bars, souvenirs, trains … this is an American park 😉
