New York in 3 days — what to see?
New York falls on the head of a traveler who has just completed a long flight over the Atlantic with all its color, brightness, diversity and city noise…
3 days in New York is of course not enough, if you want to explore this colossal city in detail, delve into its life, then you need at least 7-10 days at least 🙁 because here there is everything for an experienced and not much of a tourist… numerous museums, parks, never-falling Broadway with its world-famous Broadway shows and musicals, shows, and even beaches…
There is only one danger of staying in New York for a long time — is to absorb the unique pulse of this city and fall in love with it completely and irrevocably!
But our goal was not New York itself, but a trip along the East Coast from New York to Florida, we allocated 3 days of our eleven-day trip to New York, and on the fourth day we left delighted , a little stunned and with a strong desire to «come back»…
And so, our mandatory plans for exploring New York included: Times Square, the Empire State Building (of course), a visit to Lady Liberty and Central Park (required), the Museum Natural history, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, and what else we’ll have time for.
We deliberately chose a hotel geographically equidistant from Times Square and Central Park in New York to be within walking distance to the main attractions we planned . After all, no one has canceled transportation costs, and they constitute a significant part of travel expenses.
By the way, booking a hotel at the last minute before the trip has its advantages, there was a choice of really good hotels with a decent discount; at the price we couldn’t afford them. The hotel was booked through the well-known largest online service for hotel booking www.booking.comall over the world, a reliable service that we have been using for many years with reviews from real tourists.
Several hotels are conveniently located in the part of New York that interests us:

New York — where to eat inexpensively
The price of our hotel included breakfast; we love breakfasts in hotels, when you don’t have to cook, heat, or think about anything… such family entertainment 🙂 and the savings for the family are really decent.
So our hotel offered a basic free breakfast at the coffee shop across the street from our Blakely New York hotel. From the first visit we fell in love with our coffee shop «Au Bon Pain». «Au Bon Pain» an ideal place for a delicious and healthy breakfast, and possibly lunch, as you like… Warm cereals, omelettes and sandwiches, muesli, milk, freshly squeezed juices, pastries, fresh salads with various toppings and dressings are available.
Of course our «basic included in the price» You can’t get enough for a long journey, so every morning we bought something from the menu as desired. As a result, we got a hearty breakfast with baked goods to go for $50-80 for five.
For a snack «on your feet», or a healthy, not heavy dinner, I can also recommend salad-sandwich chain «Fresh & ;amp; co». In «Fresh & co» There are always cold and warm, high-calorie and low-calorie salads and sandwiches available. You can choose any ingredients, additives and toppings to suit all tastes and appetites.
«Fresh & co» We met her in New York many times, from which we conclude that she is also popular among New Yorkers.
Salad cost in «Fresh & co» from 5 $ to 13 $ depending on the number of fillers, your tastes and fantasies.
If you are not a fan of hotels, prefer a homely environment, or you are traveling with a large group and you do not fit in a hotel room, of course it is more convenient more often and cheaper, rent an apartment to live in New York. I won’t tell you in detail how our days in New York passed, but unfortunately it’s easier to tell what we DIDN’T see than what we did see.
So…
Right after breakfast on our first day we went to pick up our New York Passes purchased online
New York PASS for 3 days and 5 days
New York Passinvented for those who plan to see as much as possible and save as much as possible 🙂 we, as first-time visitors, decided to start with the New York Pass for the first acquaintance and orientation on the area 🙂
For the uninitiated, New York PASS — This is a general ticket for several days (options 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 days) to visit numerous New York attractions (as well as bus tours around the city and water cruises), allows you to really save finance on the purchase of entrance tickets and precious time at the entrance, because for New York Pass holders there is a separate (faster) queue for entry.
New York Pass includes admission to more than 80 of New York’s most famous and interesting attractions, plus several sightseeing bus routes and even boat trips — here is a complete list of places to visit included in the New York Pass
Since our stay in New York was limited to 3 days, we considered purchasing a New York Pass for 3 days.
New York PASS 3 day package includes: — Uptown Loop Bus Tour of New York City’s Upper Manhattan — By the way, the buses also have an audio guide in Russian — Downtown Loop bus tour of Lower Manhattan New York City — bus tour of Brooklyn — visiting 5 New York attractions of your choice, including sightseeing cruises
and costs New York PASS for 3 days: $162 adult ticket $132 child (5-15 years old) ticket
With the New York Pass, all bus tours, cruises and museums in New York are cheaper.
If you buy entrance tickets separately it will be significantly more expensive, for example, the bus tour of New York at Night costs $35 per person, bus routes Downtown and Updown — $55, admission to the Empire State Building — $34, Madame Tussauds — $35, American Museum of Natural History — $22, One World Observatory — $34, trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island — $18… In addition, we received a 20% discount at M&M`s World, an unexpected joy! The conclusion is this: if you plan to actively spend your 1-2-3-5-7 days watching in New York, then of course the New York Pass will save your wallet and precious time.
On the first day we managed…
