It’s impossible to come to New York for the first time and not visit Lady Liberty. Therefore, it was decided to dedicate
2 day in New York — Statue of Liberty and boat trips
As we noticed yesterday, BIG BUS Downtown buses along the route make a stop at Battery Park, from where boats sail to the Statue of Liberty and further to Ellis Island, we decided to take advantage of this so as not to pay for a taxi for five . We found the BIG BUS bus stop closest to the hotel and went to Battery Park, of course the bus moves quite slowly and makes stops, so this is not the fastest option for getting around New York, but we were happy to look at Manhattan again.
When we got there, we exchanged our New York PASS tickets for tickets on the boat to Liberty.
There’s really nothing to write further, The Statue of Liberty especially from the water makes a vivid impression. Mistress Libertytoo famous to remain indifferent to this spectacle.
Having landed on the island, we learned that getting inside the statue «into the crown» is only possible by reservation, so we only had to walk around the impressive monument, which did not upset us at all.
For our followers, here is a link to the official website of the Statue of Liberty www.statuecruises.com/statue-liberty-and-ellis-island-tickets where you can order tickets to visit the observation deck platforms in the crown of the Statue of Liberty or Crown of the Statue of Liberty National Monument. The number of tickets for each day is limited, so it is better to book in advance.
You can stay on the island for as long as you like, the main thing is not to be late for the last boat 😉
After a walk we went to the boat pier Ellis Island.
The Ellis Island Museum of Immigration is located Museum of Immigration to America or Ellis Island Museum of Immigration.
The Museum has an interesting visual exhibition dedicated to the history of the first settlers to America, certainly brave people who believed in a new life on a new continent.
After sailing back to Manhattan we decided to get to Central Park in New York by subway.
About New York subwaya lot has been said. For residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, the New York metro looks strange and unsightly, with boring, undecorated stations, hot air conditioning on the platforms and intense air conditioning on the trains. The metro map is complicated at first glance, but you can still figure it out fairly quickly.

Having bought a ticket for 1 trip for $5, within 20 minutes we were at the other end of Manhattan next to the one we knew from «Home Alone 2» Central Park of New York.
The park is superbly equipped: paths for runners, cyclists and walkers, children’s playgrounds for all ages with children’s playgrounds! there are toilets nearby, ponds, benches, several restaurants.
New York’s Central Park offers a variety of entertainment: rentals of regular recreational bikes, bicycles for two, carriage bicycles, horseback riding, roller skate rentals, horseback riding in an open carriage… and numerous paths through the park itself, as well as the Brooklyn Bridge and the Hudson.
You can feel like a true New Yorker and have a leisurely picnic on the grass of Central Park right in the center of the noisy, sparkling, 24-hour New York City!
What was especially striking is that in Central Park you can even buy a box of food for a picnic; by the way, they offer 3 types of menu 🙂
We originally planned to visit the New York Zoo, which is located here, but then abandoned this idea in favor of the American Museum of Natural History.
For now, running in New York’s Central Park will remain a dream!
And of course it was a mistake, at the Museum of Natural History and Central Park, then together with the Zoo, you need to set aside a separate day in New York to take a walk and see everything, as they say, «with feeling, with proper arrangement» .
One of us slept, our already loved Blakely New York hotel, located just 7 minutes on foot (480 meters) from Central Park in New York , we returned to the room and fell into a sound sleep of tired people, overwhelmed with impressions.
